That's a piece of our bullpen that was missing last year IMO as it would've decreased some of the workload on O'Flaherty, Venters, and Kimbrel.

No, that's on your manager for overusing them. There were other bullpen guys in place. He just didn't trust them. Bad idea. There's 162 games. Have to roll the dice sometimes with one of your weaker arms.

I'd be fine with that trade.

I'm not huge on Quentin either (mostly because of High Ks and injury trouble), but he certainly fits the bill for a power bat.

We should demand they give us Dayan Viciedo.

We tried this.

Unfortunately, it was with Scott fricking Proctor.

Yeah I mean I remember Cory Gearrin getting some appearances...and you're right Gonzo doesn't really know how to use a bullpen.

He did. They were just loaded dice that the opposing manager gave him before the game.

Fredi kept trotting Proctor out there in close games as if he didn't know what was forthcoming. He also sent Gearrin out there to die against lefties over and over again. That game against the Phils when he left Gearrin in to pitch to Utley, Howard, Ibanez, etc. was the moment where I realized that my team was in the hands of an imbecile.

Proctor alone probably lost us 5 games (at least). That would have put us in the playoffs. No Cardinals World Series. Albert back in St. Lou.

In many ways, Fredi changed baseball history.

If we trade Medlen for Quentin, we could move JJ for an MLB Ready 3rd baseman. That way, even if Quentin and Chip go down at the same time, we have our replacement at LF and 3rd.

That moment for me was against the Dodgers in April.

Bottom of the 12th Inning. 3-3 Score. Runner on 2nd. 1 Out. Matt Kemp at the plate.

What should we do?
A. Walk Matt Kemp Intentionally
B. Walk Matt Kemp Intentionally
C. Walk Matt Kemp Intentionally
D. Walk Matt Kemp Intentionally

Matt Kemp is awesome.

JJ/Prado/Bourn for Kemp/Kershaw.

Get it done, Frank.

I just made the mistake of giving him the benefit of the doubt for too long. I knew he was bad even before we hired him, but ultimately the difference between a good and bad manager isn't THAT extreme. It took me a while to realize that Fredi is much much worse than simply a bad manager though.

The #Braves are being tight-lipped about it, but they'll unveil a new uniform or jersey, prob. in January. I think it's an alternate.
