Even if they don't like each other, it shouldn't matter. I think people get too caught up in the whole "team chemistry" thing sometimes.
Too caught up? So it doesn't matter all that much? I could literally give you 10 examples off the top of my head of teams that gelled together, exceeded expectations, and won championships. I could also give you 10 examples off the top of my head of teams that underplayed due to lack of chemistry.
You're an Eagles fan, shouldn't you know all about the dangers of lack of team chemistry?
I'll hang up and listen...

Wouldn't be so sure. He has an option for 2013 I believe, and he'll be 30 which is old for a catcher. He can't move to 1B with Freeman there. I think we SHOULD re-sign him. I just wasn't sold that it was a given that we WOULD. Betancourt is supposed to be the real deal and should be ML ready by 2014...
Mac will get extended. The contract will probably get done next offseason, going into his option year.
Freeman won't be moving to the outfield. Ever. He has the makings of a gold glove 1st baseman.
Bethancourt probably won't be ready till at least 2015, when he's 23. He has a lot of work left on his catching technique, plate discipline, and power. I'd be surprised to see Bethancourt ever play in an Atlanta Braves uni to be honest. He's going to be a very valuable trade piece here in a few years.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to move Freeman to LF personally. The dude is a stud. And, honestly, with Pujols going to the AL the 1B scene in the NL is a bit open now for All-Star games, etc.
I really hope we do re-sign BMac. He's my favorite player not named Chipper or Martin. I hope he stays with the team his whole career.
I think Bethancourt could be a solid trade chip for us if we to bring in an impact bat. I know it would suck to lose such a touted prospect, but we need to get more balanced offensively. Don't want to lose some of the arms we have either, but sometimes you just go to.

The Eagles struggles have just about nothing to do with team chemistry. The team gets along just fine.
Which is exactly the point, you are simply making a bullshite claim to support your pre-conceived notions.
Of all your examples, I could nearly guarantee you could look at those teams and say, "Hey, this team didn't implode because they couldn't get along. These teams imploded because they weren't good at this, this and this." Or "this team didn't succeed because they were just such good buddies, but because they were just really fricking good."
Bill Romanowski played on 4 teams who won Super Bowls. He once ripped off a player's helmet and bashed in his eye socket. He was known as THE dirtiest player in the game. People don't like Bill Romanowski.
Randy Moss played on a team that won every game but 1.
T.O. won a SB and played in another.

We're never going to agree on this, no point in muddying the thread with an endless debate.
Bottom line is, if the Braves think they can acquire Hanley for a package they are comfortable with, they are stupid if they choose not to do it because he doesn't get along with a manager who is already feeling the heat to be fired.
eta: This ain't Bobby we're talking about.

Justin Tuck disagrees.

There's always an exception to the rule.

So now almost counts?

Uh, no he didn't sir. And he only played in one Super Bowl. I think citing him as an example actually furthers my point. So thanks, I think.

Justin Tuck is a moron.

So you are saying Randy Moss' antics are why the Patriots lost the SB to the Giants? You are saying that team wasn't successful despite the fact that they lost only one game, all year?

I thought he was a youngster on one of the Niners teams that won it, my bad.

Swamp may blow a gasket if we don't get this thing back on track.
When is HanRam's current contract up?
Posted on 12/8/11 at 3:13 pm to okietiger
I think he's got 3 years remaining.
Anyways, can't wait to sign Cody Ross and Edgar Renteria and call it an offseason.

Let me go on record and say God I hope I am wrong and Wren goes after HanRam and tells Fredi to GTF over it or GTFO if not.

Am I the only one who doesn't want Hanley? Too much of a risk. He's the type of player I'd only want in a contract year.

Probably.
It's certainly a risk.
I mostly worry that he'll just be a lazy bum for the rest of his career, like he was this year.
Posted on 12/8/11 at 3:29 pm to OBUDan
Aside from his contract years, I'd frankly be shocked if he wasn't a lazy bum.
There's no way the Braves will go after him.

My sources in the Braves organization have just informed me us and the Blue Jays are closing in on a Jurrjens and Heyward for Bautista trade.
Stay tuned.
