Matt Thornton is really good, but that sure doesn't make much sense.

That's a loaded back end of the bullpen though.

Ed Zachary.

Which is why it doesn't make any sense.

Ugh, Thornton.

Here's what we do.

Send Prado to the Nats for Mike Morse. They can sign Prince so they don't need him to play 1B. Morse can play LF for us. They can move Espinosa to SS, where they project him anyhow. LF issues solved!

Hear mixed signals on Thornton to #Braves rumor, which was leaked from ChiSox side. Just spoke with someone who said it's not happening.

Another pen arm to relieve the stress on O'Ventbrel makes sense. But I just hate the idea of paying 6 mill a year to a 35 year old 7th inning reliever.

A pen arm would be nice, but it's not a necessity. We have Viz this year who should be ready to take on a roll in the back end of games, as well as Medlen.

Fredi just has to give these guys the chance.

Bravos sleeping, Phils have now added Papelbon, also beefed up their weak bench with Thome, Wiggington, and Nix. May make move for Ramirez, if can't resign Rollins & trade Polanco? Look for action in the coming weeks.

What will JJ bring Atl in return? Is Cincy the main suitor? Any possible deals of young Brave arms for proven BABIP lumber or some added HR pop?

You've got the wrong sometimes amiss throwing JJ.

Dan, good thing the Rantards and Bravetards don't run their respective decision makings..both JJs would've been scrapped long ago. Half or more of the ATL thread regs wanted to trade him all season, and I called his strong season before it happened early last year, when he handcuffed the Phightins twice.

I still think Jair is almost too good to move even with the loaded Bravo system..when he keeps it down in the zone and pounding out groundballs..he's brutal. I certainly wouldn't trade him cheap, he's gonna have some strong seasons.

Everytime I see "JJ" in an ATL thread I have nightmares.

He's a good pitcher, no doubt. How good is the question and what type of value can you get for him.

There's no way Wren has any interest in giving Jair away. I don't have a good feel one way or the other, but it sounds like there is a good bit of interest about him and possibly even more about Prado.

They wanted to trade him because his value was at the highest it will ever be and there is depth at his position. That's not really the same as wanting to scrap him, like Lowe for example.

I was at the forefront of this movement. And to think, you called me out around the ASB for it. I never budged. Looks like I was right.
