I'm telling you, Jason had to have finger-blasted Freddi's wife or something. He absolutely hates Heyward.

It might not have anything to do with Fredi's wife, but there is definitely some ill will there. Heyward doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who is anything close to a troublemaker, so I don't understand why the organization would side with Fredi. Trading a 22 year old with Heyward's talent to appease the man who just tarded your team out of the playoffs is criminally stupid though.

Another sub .250 season from Heyward, and he's gone quicker than Failcoeur.

I'm considering making this a thread, but I'll leave this here anyway for now

Lost in the great seasons of Jonny Venters and Craig Kimbrel, was the historic season of the Braves' 7th inning man Eric O'Flaherty.

He had a 0.9836 ERA in 73 2/3 innings over 78 appearances.

The previous record for lowest ERA for a reliever with at least 75 appearances was Eric Gagne in 2003 with a 1.20 ERA in 82 1/3 innings over 77 appearances. He won the Cy Young.

O'Flaherty also had the 3rd lowest ERA among relievers with at least 70 innings pitched, behind Dennis Eckersley in 1990 with a 0.6155 ERA in 73 1/3 innings over 63 appearances and Chris Hammond for the Braves in 2002 with a 0.9473 ERA in 76 innings over 63 games.

O'Flaherty also allowed only 1 unearned run and 9 out of 31 (29%) inherited runners scored. Eckersley allowed 4 unearned runs and allowed only 4 out of 29 (14%) inherited runners to score. Hammond allowed 7 unearned runs and 6 out of 33 (18%) inherited runs to score.

However, O'Flaherty doesn't get the credit. Shame.

Yeah it's a damn shame

They even brought up his stats last night during the game alongside Craig and Johnnys and didnt even give him a mention really.

He doesn't even get enough mention from guys around here

Absolute stellar year

EOF was otherworldly this year, and seemingly an afterthought. What he did was extraordinary, and he never even showed a single sign of wearing down. The best of O'Ventbrel even, imo.

In other news, Jim Bowden believes the Braves will be "serious players" in the Reyes sweepstakes.

I don't think they would move Heyward because of Fredi, but because of Chipper. He did have some words about Heyward's injury earlier in the year.

As much as I hate to say it, I wonder if the problem in the locker room is Chipper.

frick that. After the stunt he pulled yesterday I am more convinced than ever that he's going to become one of the biggest FA busts in history. His attitude is shite and he is fragile. Once he signs that big contract, he will stop caring altogether.
