Yeah I mean if only half of the guys who underperformed last year rebound this year we'll be fine and in the hunt all year.

I completely agree. From what I've read on J-Hey he's looking good and he has completely re-structured his swing. I'm expecting a solid year out of him. McCann, Uggs, and Prado need to follow suit. We get that we're OK. My biggest concern though is our rotation. We're going to be really young if Huddy, Tommy, and JJ all start the season on the shelf.

Ed Zachary. If Heyward rebounds and the pitching staff stays relatively healthy we should be there till the end.
It's important we jump out ready to play early this year while Ryan Howard is down. The last two years in April we have been 21-28.
This year in April we have:
@Mets
@Astros
Brewers(without Braun)
Mets
@Dbacks(4 games)
@Dodgers
Pirates(4 games)
I think it is important we start off April around 15-8 or 14-9. We don't need a slow start again.

Good start. Very favorable schedule. That's the issue I've always had with the Bravos. We're notorious for slow starts. It's usually in the second half we explode. We can't afford to do that anymore with the Phils, Marlins, and Nats all stock piling solid players.

JJ was good to go the day after the season, and Hanson is fine. Huddy will probably start the year on the DL but a rotation of Hanson, Jurrjens, Beachy, Minor, and Delgado/Teheran will be fine.
I wonder who will start opening day.

True. I just need to see it to believe I guess. I'm thinking Hanson gets the opening day nod. I doubt JJ does and I know Beachy or Minor won't.
Do you think Teheran is ready? I think he's a sure fire prospect but I'm inclined to think another half year in the minors will do him good to work on his off-speed stuff.

I agree with Hanson being the opening day starter. Whoever it is, it'll be nice to not see Lowe out there the first game again.
And yeah I think Teheran is ready, but I'd leave him in the minors to slow down his service clock. I'd look to move JJ around the deadline and then bring Teheran up.
Start the season with Delgado or even Medlen as the #5.

Whats the deal with Hudson? I didnt realize he would possibly be starting the year off on the DL. A little info on that would be appreciated.

Not much info is really known at this point but I'm sure we'll know more once pitchers and catchers report.
He underwent surgery on his back in November and it is unsure how much time he'll miss. Might miss a month, might be ready for opening day.
We'll know more soon though.

Having one, maybe two of our pitchers injured during the season is likely to happen. Since it happens every year. And knowing you have guys like Medlen, Delgado, and Teheran to take over for a little bit just makes you want to turn into a banana and dance.

The latest I've read is that Huddy will be out until the end of April, early May. I'm with you Donks on Teheran. I don't want him to get Super Two status at all.

Thought they got rid of Super 2s

Nah, I don't think they did.

Who all underperformed last year, in your opinion?
Heyward is a given. I think we all agree on that.
Prado's numbers were down. To me, that's not altogether shocking from a guy that lacks plate discipline and patience.
Uggla hit for a low average but career-high bombs. I think this is more or less what we'll get from him.
McCann is tough. After a hot start, he cooled way down. But his health is almost always the issue. I'm not sure that will change so long as he plays catcher.
Chip is chip. Freddie had a good year. Bourn was good.
Heyward is definitely the man to watch. He has to breakout if this team wants to contend, IMO.

Wildcard lock no matter what, though. I'm still trying to figure out how you think this team isn't going to succeed, when it is an improved product over what we have had the last two years when we were there till the end.
You are twisting your perception of things just to be negative, IMO. Being glass empty instead of glass full, with no true reason to be.

He will as long he doesnt listen to Parrish telling him what to do from the stands
