These announcers are getting on my nerves. Can't just call a game

Very, very small difference. Equates to about 4-5 runs worse per season.

Does the official scorer get some kind of bonus if multiple Braves win gold gloves? That dude is awful generous.

We'll they are pretty baffled by how the official scorer is scoring these plays and I don't blame them

I wonder if the MLB scorer will go back and change them later tonight? Did that with a play of ours in Milwakee that was scored a hit but it was absolutely an error on Peralta

Errors are pretty meaningless. The metrics show both Heyward and Simmons are pretty clearly the best defenders at their positions.

in this game it is 1 run at least...yeah it probably averages out because dudes end up hitting a homerun or something behind the person that strikes out, but that isn't happening right now on our team....thye need to put the ball in play.

Also think about weakly hit groundball double plays, line outs, etc. All can be twice as bad as strikeouts.

This game has been a little unusual in that regard, most of the time striking out eliminates the double play which in a weird way extends the inning

Larussa used to call the scorer up and berate him, if he thought it should of been an error. Helping his pitchers and their eras.

i used to laugh, the official scorer at the home parks are always lenient, and this old bastard is crying for even more leniency.

still....there are os many more things that can go wrong for the other team when a ball is put in play compared to a K. but we'll probably never agree so whatever

It is just a difference in thinking. I can see your side especially with how things have been going recently, but over the course of the season it's not something I worry too much about.

i will say this, Matt Holliday is no doubt the best defensive left fielder in baseball

I feel like if you're pulling for K's in a bases loaded or 1st and second situation, you should be confident in the hitters that are coming up next...our lineup doesn't give you that conifidence right now imo.

however, in 2nd and 3rd situations or 3rd only, making contact should be a priority.
