Proctor was out of the basepath, so it should have been a double play.

McCutchen was screaming to get the double play

Lugo, "I know I was safe. He missed me. You like to win them in 9 innings, but if you're going to play that long, you better win, we did, they didn't."
Q: Do you want to see the replay?
"No, I know I was safe, that's all that matters. He made the right call."

hey, y'all did sweep us in SF earlier this season.

eh, y'all also had Infante, Lee, Melky and Farnsworth last year.
think about that. the only one worth a shite was Infante last year. Too bad he wasn't playing 2nd in game 3 of the NLDS.

In all seriousness, this is very concerning..
Brian McCann is the best Braves hitter.. Oblique problems can tend to linger, especially for a catcher who has to throw from that side..
The 2nd best hitter is having a very slow start off the DL in Prado.. and the 3rd best hitter Jones is as fragile as glass..
Schafer has a slight bone chip.. and now we are having to rely on guys like Julio Lugo (.188 avg) Nate McLouth (.228 avg) Jason Heyward (.222 avg) and whoever else they may have to call up.
Freeman has exceeded expectation, but how much more can you rely on the young rookie.
I know.. I know..
but the Wild Card lead is down to 3 1/2.
We are currently sitting at 6-6 post-all star break.. but we do have a somewhat favorable schedule with the Marlins, @ Nats, @ Marlins, Cubs coming up. Then it gets crucial as we play the Giants and Dbacks @ home. August will be a very crucial month.

That was the kind of call that can motivate the Pirates to achieve even more than they already have this season. They're playing good ball even when the opponent blows the ump.
The thing to pay attention to is that the Braves had to go 19 innings and get a blown (no pun intended) call to beat the Bucs by one at home. They're the ones who should be concerned, no doubt.
Let's go Bucs!
