I agree this season. Is Jace a long term answer at 3rd? Would be a minor surprise to me but I would like to see him play 100 games there to find out. I think he is a very good extra guy on a good team, especially with what this organization has in the middle infield.

I don't know that Jace will ever develop enough power to be a solid 3B in a lineup that doesn't get it from a non-traditional position.

Honestly, Jace is perfect for the Super Util role. But we do not really have an in-house replacement for 3B. We got Ruiz in the Gattis deal. Ruiz is struggling mightly thus far in AA. The 3B free agent market looks very bare for this off-season. So, Jace appears to be our best option, and he happens to be in-house.

Yeah Ruiz has been the only prospect we got this winter who is struggling so far. Unfortunately it's at a position where we really need to find an answer.
