Let’s go ahead and get that 40 behind us, Ronald

Interesting stat I noticed from Ronnie this year. I’ve been keeping an eye on every few weeks throughout the season. But he now has 78 walks. To 78 strikeouts. 1st time he’s ever been anywhere near a 1:1 ratio in his career. It’s really unbelievable just how complete an overall hitter he’s become. Hitting almost .340, leads the NL in OBP and has overtaken Mookie in OPS for the league lead.
But that walk to K ratio is something else.

Someone better put Bill Plaschke and Jeff Passan on suicide watch.

This whole team has drastically cut down the strikeout rate this season. It has been amazing to watch.
Also nice to see a clean inning from Jimenez, even if it was low leverage. Getting him rolling again going into the playoffs is crucial.

Good dub, one that we desperately needed too. Baltimore could’ve cut our lead to 1 today

Nice inning from Jimenez to stop the bleeding. Still the only team since 2018 without a 5 game skid.

Gun to your head—rather play the Astros with home field or the Orioles without it?

Was hoping we could’ve given Jesse the 9th with such a big lead

The Orioles are better than the Astros, so give me the Astros

I’ve switched to stros game now
Let’s go stros

We’re also only 3 games up in the L column on LA so it would be cool if Detroit could somehow get a win tonight

Magic number update:
1st rd.bye:0 (MIL lost to STL last night and clinched it for us)
NL Homefield:(LA) 8, could be 7 pending tonight's game
Overall homefield:(BAL) 10, could be 9 but the Orioles are beating Houston 7-3 in the 6th.
We owe the tiebreakers w/both.

We would score 10+ runs against the Astros pitching.
Posted on 9/19/23 at 10:13 pm to Broski
Houston's bats scare me in a short series more than Baltimore's pitching without Felix Bautista. Baltimore's starting pitching against this lineup's tendency to get off to fast starts is a bad matchup for them.
Toronto scares me more than anyone in the AL because it seems like we're on an 0-15 run against them.

Since Kyle Wright clearly isn’t ready, and we know they won’t use Strider on short rest, is it safe to say the NLDS rotation is about set
Game 1: Fried
Game 2: Strider
Game 3: Morton
Game 4: Elder
Game 5: Fried
Game 1: Fried
Game 2: Strider
Game 3: Morton
Game 4: Elder
Game 5: Fried

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the way the NLDS is scheduled, we can throw three guys with the games 1 and 2 starters going on normal rest for 4 and 5
Posted on 9/20/23 at 1:27 am to diddlydawg7
There is a day off between every game in the NLDS except 3/4. No need for 4 starters.
Fried and Strider can both pitch twice on normal rest. Morton is getting the ball in the other game. Leash will be determined by the series score entering that game.

I wanted to see him tonight too, but we HAD to have that game, and 4 runs was too close to send Jesse out there for the 1st time in several months. I think he was probably gonna get an inning until Harper’s home run.

We were up by 6 in the 9th
