Braves are currently:

- 2nd worst in baseball in runs scored
- Tied for 4th worst in OBP

Are there even any changes that can be made? I imagine that we don't have many pieces to trade, plus we are pretty much set for a long time at most positions.

Yeah, our farm system is pretty much garbage right now, pretty much only have two decent arms that aren't blowing the doors off and Peraza. We could probably upgrade at 3B if, well, you know.

I would start by DFAing Uggla, Schafer and Avilan.

They need to get Wood back in the rotation as well imo.

3B is the only real position that is upgradable, but that horrendous extension fricked us there.

Who do you really move out of the rotation though? Harang doesn't deserve to be bumped really, and it's not like they are moving Santana. Mind you, Floyd has been arguably pitching the worst, but has been able to be lucky so far and keep his ERA down. Not that pitching is really our issue anyway, other than Fredi noting being able to run a bullpen well.

Avilan wouldn't even be bad if Fredi would use him like a true Loogy.

I shouldn't bite on your trolls, but OBP is not a wins and losses predictor. It is a predictor of offensive success and the Braves are second to last in runs scored.

Teams wins and losses are pitching and defense dependent.

Really pointless though, Wood actually provides a ton of value as a reliever. Floyd would provide pretty much no value as a reliever. We are already having some bullpen issues, no reason to really make it worse. Our starting pitching is perfectly fine as is.

We do need to do something to shakeup the offense, new hitting coach, cleaning out the bench, whatever really. We are just putrid offensively.

But when you throw out the offensive stats and place of finish, I tell you it is because of certain teams having better pitching. Which is it? Didn't you have a stat about teams with best OBP making the playoffs last year? I could be wrong.

He has been pretty bad as a reliever. He is better than Floyd as a starter too.

Every time he comes back he has to try and get me all riled up. It's sad/funny all at the same time. I can't wait until he comes back. I want to see what he has in store for me

True, and I think Wood is better as a starter. I think his poor numbers as a reliever this year are more of a sample size thing though, he was very good last year as a reliever.
