Every year of my life, I've followed the Braves and have actually believed that we will make a push for the World Series. Not this year. I hate this team, but I almost want to thank them for letting me down in June instead of waiting until October.

Unless something drastic changes, this team is in trouble.

I'm going to be optimistic and say at least our record isn't inflated and not representative of where this club is at because it leaves the doors open at the deadline to make a splash instead of the old company line "I like our team and I think it can compete for a ring just the way it's setup now"

And you guys can pile on Fredi all you want but the problem is, has been, and will be Wren...signing Uggz and BJ, extending CJ, slapping Huddy in the face

It was the right move not to resign Hudson. Hindsight is 20/20 on that one. And no one could have expected Uggla to be even half as bad as he's been, but the BJ signing and CJ extension were really indefensible.

It's pretty hard to watch this team right now instead of the World Cup.

Huddy currently leads the NL in ERA.

Well, your team is coming to DC tomorrow. If, as the sculpture in front of building across the street from my office says, "what is past is prelude," Atlanta fans should feel fairly confident that a change in your fortunes is immiment.

DC fans, on the other hand, are nervous and apprehensive. Incredibly, with the Nats in first place, we are facing what many perceive as a put-up-or-shut-up test before the summer solstice arrives. If the Braves whip up on us again, the Nats bandwagon will empty pretty darn quick.

We're all hoping that Matt Williams et al have something planned for Atlanta, but goodness knows we haven't had any answers against you all for a while.

I sure hope the Braves can continue their domination of Washington, but we haven't looked this terrible in a long time. Bad bullpen, bad offense, and inconsistent starting pitching.

From my perspective the Uggla extension was worse at the time. I expected Uggla's skillset to deteriorate pretty quickly. If BJ could just give you what he gave you in Tampa it was a decent deal. I still think BJ is a 2-3 WAR player/yr over the next 2 or 3 years.
