Pitching has exceeded expectations, although based on the last two outing we could see a return to the career mean for some of our guys. Hitting has been a disaster, we are even more boom or bust than we were last year, and that's saying alot.

I think if Freeman doesn't hit well we have very little chance to score more than a few runs, unless we run into some pitches for bombs. I think Heyward is Heyward and any dreams we had of him being a .300 hitter can be put to rest, I'll take .250 at this point. We are getting Minor back which could be huge, especially if some of our unlikely studs start to fall off a little.

Teheran seems to be turning into the ace we all knew he had the chance to become, and that is huge for us.

Overall we desperately need to start hitting, we need guys to worry about getting on base so we have a chance to score runs instead of trying to park every pitch.

Also our defense is outstanding, I see a lot of low scoring close games, and some lopsided scores both ways coming

not really concerned about half of our position players. simmons, justin, freeman, and heyward are all all-star caliber.

then gattis has some pop and bj plays good d in center

The biggest issue by far is having only 2 regulars with a .300+ OBP. Obviously Heyward will be fine in the OBP department, but there is a real chance we could end the season with just JUp, Freeman and Heyward with .300+ OBPs.

Having so many guys who simply don't take walks is a major concern for me.

I say blow up the team and start from scratch. They already haven't met my 161-1 expectations. Dicks.

Yes. God yes. We can't expect to win in late August/September when we can't get on base.

I really like our starting rotation of --

Teherah, Wood, Santana, Minor.

This has to be 1 of the better rotations in all of baseball.

I think this could be a formidable group (if healthy) come playoff time.

And our bullpen is solid.

But our run is going to come down to the bats of BJ, Uggla, CJ and Heyward.

.757 OPS. He is an average hitter and atrocious defender and baserunner. Bad overall.

Beltre, Longoria, Wright, Headley, Aramis, Donaldson, Sandoval, Prado, Seager, Frazier, Machado, Lawrie, Uribe, Carpenter, Alvarez, Moustakas, Arenado, Freese, Rendon. 20 guys that are better. He is a bottom third 3B in the big leagues.
