Jon Heyman notes

quote:

The Braves tried to reacquire World Series MVP Jorge Soler twice — once at the deadline (when they asked the Marlins to pay some of his $13M salary) and once over the winter. The Marlins declined one trade suggestion that would have sent Marcell Ozuna back to Miami.

Thought this was kind of interesting. Sounds like AA is going to have to attach a prospect to get someone to consider eating Ozuna's money if he really wants to move him.

I’d like to see him get some at bats against left handed pitching. See what he has to offer.

Hilliard opened his hip up way too early the one time I saw him against LH pitching. He is stepping out instead of to the ball. He steps to the ball against RH pitching, so he needs some work I guess.

I mean, who in their right mind would want him? Massive baggage and one of the worst performers in the majors.

The Nats supposedly turned down is trading him for Corbin this off-season, which shows you how radioactive Ozuna is.

If AA were to offer a team about to start a long rebuild Ozuna and someone like Ian Anderson, for example, that might be a chance worth taking for someone. At that point, it's not about Ozuna as much as it's about buying a young pitcher with upside.

Maybe Dodd if not Anderson.

Attach both.

We have better pitchers growing on the farm right now, we can afford to let Dodd go.

That would have been a bad trade for both sides. That is just exchanging one shitty player/contract for the other.

Corbin has two years left on his contract. Making 24.5 million this year, 25 next with 10 mil deferred in 2025.

Ozuna is a little cheaper on his contract. 16 mil this year and 16 mil next with a 1 mil buyout in 2025.

Now just waiting on TDA

If that was his 4th concussion, it may still be awhile. I just hope he can get back one day. His season success may be very much affected. He was off to a good start. So unfortunate

He'll be back. He's been taking batting practice the last week or so.

But he will be the primary DH when he comes back and he should be. He should catch twice a week max.
