Seems like a lot for Pina
Played for $1.6M last year
Feels like the Smyly deal last year where we zeroed in on a target and overpaid to make it happen

Dude, I’d say AA has earned the right to make the moves he feels are right for this club. Jeez some of you can do nothing but criticize.

It’s a sports message board. The idea is to talk about sports.
He made some great moves last year and obviously played a big part in the Braves winning the World Series. I don’t think that means he’s incapable of potentially overpaying somebody or that it’s off limits to talk about deals on a message board.

He's earned the benefit of the doubt. To come off as criticizing him just b/c you don't agree w/a signing comes off as being miserable and bitching just for the sake of bitching.
The Braves needed a competent backup C. Pina fits that bill; or would you rather we be stuck w/Stephen Vogt or Kevin Smith again?

Can the 2 of you please give me a list of individuals that we not allowed to post anything about that could potentially be conceived in a way that we are criticizing a decision that was made? Even if it’s just an quick opinion for the sake of discussion. It would also be helpful to know how long this rule stays in effect.
Thanks

World Champions don't have time for scrubs playing tee ball

The ONLY thing that maybe you could criticize about Pina is that he's 34. That's it.
He is a viable backup to TDA who isn't an automatic out and is decent behind the dish.

Yankees met with reps for all top lefthanded-hitting 1B, including Freddie Freeman. Of course the Braves would seem most likely to retain Freeman, while Rizzo and perhaps trade candidate Olson, among others, may be more realistic for NYY. But it’s worth investigating the great FF

Okay, thanks. Now I’m aware of the Pina rules. From this day forward, I promise not to say an ill word about Pina other than how old he is.
Seriously though, I’m sure you’ll continue to remind everybody about Riley daily and try to police the board and I’ll continue to post my thoughts when I’d like to.
Hope Pina plays great and proves AA right.

Just teams doing due diligence.
Freddie ain't going anywhere.

I think we're still the favorites to sign him, but the longer this drags out, it's no longer a slam dunk, especially if/when a true bidding war starts.
I'm also curious how you will spin that disaster if Freddie signs elsewhere.

The funny thing is, they aren't far apart on $$$. Just the years. If it was the former I'd be worried.
This is a negotiation. This is how they play out. Start out high then meet in the middle.
Every analyst in the business thinks Freddie isn't going anywhere. I hated that it went to FA, but it is what it is. I think lack of revenues from COVID had a lot to do w/this.

I was right about Riley when a lot on here were ready to give up on him and declare him a bust. I preached patience w/young guys.

What about your predictions for Mac
Jones' NFL career?
Zach Wilson?

It's a negotiation. The client always starts out high. That's how these things work.

It's too early to make a conclusion on either. They're still rookies for God's sake.
Nice try at a gotcha.
