I can’t imagine how well I’d contain my laughter watching Ozuna fumble around first. That sounds like a disaster.

He wasn’t terrible there last spring. And honestly, who gives a frick if he sucks at 1B for one game a week aa long as he is hitting?

The Braves absolutely should have traded Fried. Our season will be over within the next 48 hours or less and then Fried will go “poof” in the night and we’ll be a weaker organization without the assets we could have gotten. But hey, we kept him so let’s hope he finally shows up in October today before he’s wearing Dodger blue against us in a year.

I wish we had just one guy like Arraez who could just hit the fricking ball and doesn’t swing for the fences and miss on every pitch.

So basically Acuna from last year

unless you are 100% sure a FA resigns you always trade them and get something

if he walks it will be a massive failure by AA.

The return for an injured Fried at the deadline this year would have probably been less valuable than the draft pick they'll get when he rejects his qualifying offer and signs somewhere else.

This is such a dumb way of thinking. We have too many fans trying to wishcast chess moves to help us 2 years down the road and not understanding that we are in our win-now window at this very moment.

We ain’t winning now. That’s a pipe dream with this roster. So yeah, increasing the odds for later was the best move.

We did know it this year at the break. Sure, we caught lightening in 2021 without Ronald. But being down Acuna and Strider with everyone outside of Ozuna playing below their norm while the Phillies and Dodgers are clearly better was not a recipe for a deep run let alone WS title.

I said before the season that we shouldn’t use Sale until the playoffs because we would make the playoffs and all that matters IS THE PLAYOFFS. Of course, it was partially tongue in cheek but look how it played out. I could care less if Sale wins the CY Young or anything. The bottom line is we acquired him for October and he’s not even on the roster.

Next year, Strider shouldn’t see a mound until August because once again, we will make the playoffs and ALL THAT MATTERS is next October.
