I’d like to be excited with Fried and Lopez lined up but can’t win when you don’t score any runs.

91 was great. we choked and shoulda won it

92 was great. beat by a better team

95 was awesome
96 choked again shoulda won

99 outclassed had no shot

2020 and 2021 were great seasons.

last 2 years losing in NLDS to philly has sucked. i agree.

To be fair, ozunas value is probably maxed out right this moment and it’s reasonable to expect a correction/decrease in his performance

If he’s hitting and we’re contending, you can’t let that go.

It’s just as dumb as those that wanted to trade Fried this season

Lol. Dude had one of the best post season games ever and was still mad that he gave up so many hits to this trash offense.

It’s not similar to the Fried situation at all. Any trade you make involving him is likely some sort of challenge trade. No one is suggesting trading him for prospects.

He’s coming off two excellent seasons and will be very affordable. He should return significant value. If you can do something that helps you improve somewhere else while also significantly increasing the flexibility for giving your franchise cornerstone days off in the outfield it should at least be considered.

The Acuña situation is the only reason I would even consider it but I think putting Acuña in the best position to succeed and stay healthy is extremely important.

You’re overthinking it big time my guy.

Ozuna can play first on days Acuna DH if Olson is on one of his cold months. If Ozuna’s production is anywhere remotely close to what it has been the last two years, what you get back for him in a trade will make your roster worse for that season, and we’re in win now mode.

Devil’s advocate. There have been a surplus of recent examples of teams trading a star and still making the playoffs the following season. One just beat us tonight. The other won the NL Central.

The returns for Corbin Burnes and Juan Soto aren’t going to be the same for a 30+ year old DH on an expiring deal

Right. Because he’s not nearly as valuable as they are. And we’ve seen it these past several weeks.
Again not saying we should trade him. But you know Snit ain’t sitting Olson to play him at 1B. So he’s either gotta relearn to play left or hope Acuna comes back stronger than ever.

If Olson is in one of his slump months and Ozuna has a 900 OPS, you better believe he is. Ronnie isn’t going to DH much when he comes back either. He made that shot clear after how much he didn’t like it in 2022

I can’t imagine how well I’d contain my laughter watching Ozuna fumble around first. That sounds like a disaster.

Ozuna cannot play the OF under any circumstance. He makes Soler look like Andruw out there.

Acuña said last week at his press conference that he is planning to take it much slower and is “focusing on hitting” in order to stay healthy and provide value and will have to be smarter on defense and running the bases. I don’t think he’s under the allusion that he can play the OF every day.

Olson has played like 700 games in a row and is a career .860 OPS guy with a 41 homer/109 RBI career 162 game average. He's not sitting, you know that as well as I do.

Ozuna is the second best DH in the game and in an ideal world he doesn’t go anywhere but the Acuña situation definitely makes it much less cut and dry than you’re making it out to be.
