The option was show intention. We didn't do that.

Clearly we should have shown intention by trading 3 of our top 6 prospects for Hunter Greene like you wanted, we'd be way better off.

Agreed on the hindsight ticky tack responses about Mize and others though.

While VAdawg is pretty much right on target with the off-season being the time to have fixed all this, there was tons of solid upgrades available for almost nothing. We are over here with scrubs like Young in our bullpen, and guys like AJ Minter were traded for almost nothing. AA is just a moron (or he has pissed off the other GMs so much that he has Coppy level relationships with them and has to overpay all over the place).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we extended Strider before the Sale trade was made.

You are 100% correct, he was extended in October 2022. Which was dumb to begin with due to him having not even completed a single season, and being an injury prone pitcher in college who already had TJ surgery. Throw in the fact we didn't even get any cheap control years out of the deal it was an all risk, no reward type of deal and completely moronic by AA.

I would still take Greene throwing with his off-arm over the losers we are trotting out in our rotation right now.
