Pint is a great looking prospect. He has cleaned up his delivery and hitting triple digits.

Drew Stubbs! Championship!

I don't doubt that Pint is a stud. I would just rather have a bat especially with Corey Ray and Rutherford there.

No. Could be the end of Bourn though.

It's either Bourn or Bonifacio. I'd imagine Coppy has been on the phone all day trying to deal one of the two but in all likelihood we'll see one of them released

Yeah, if we go pitcher I'm going to be fairly annoyed since there seem to be so many decent of bats in the top ten this year. I'd prefer Lewis, but Rutherford or Ray would be solid too. Unless groome somehow drops we shouldn't be going pitcher imo

Summary
When you boil everything down, Rutherford has no major weakness in his game. For a high-school player with with above-average to plus tools across the board, he’s uniquely polished with a healthy sample of performance against showcase competition, and his athleticism and aptitude lower the risk level in case the pro game proves unexpectedly challenging for him. In my mind, he’s the definitive top hitting prospect in this year’s prep class and belongs in the top tier of position players – along with Louisville’s Corey Ray and Florida’s Buddy Reed – who should be selected inside the top five picks. With a combination of skills and athleticism that recalls Grady Sizemore, he has the potential to hit his way into the middle of a major-league order and make multiple All-Star teams.

Bourn and Bonafacio DFA'd. Stubbs and Ogando make the team.
Pretty good news IMO. Glad we aren't letting money make our decisions for us.

I feel like we're pricks for keeping them until the last day of Spring Training but I like the move

It's a good move I think.
I wonder if we are going to make a play for Burnett or another LH RP? If so then I'm willing to bet that Gant goes to Gwinnett

came over here to post that you guys should pick up Burnett. We just didn't have room for three lefties in the pen and he looked very good this Spring.

That will be just until we need a fifth starter. Chacin will be back up soon.
I think this team will be fun to watch this year. And I also think they could exceed expectations. Our offense should be better than last year. A lot will depend on how the rotation does obviously. We aren't going to sniff the playoffs, but I think we will surprise some folks.

I'm calling 74 wins.
There are legitimately 8 potential starting candidates between AA and AAA....two of them will hit and bolster the Major league staff.
The lineup will have some grinders that can manufacture runs. Won't win most games, but will be competitive.
