Then who pitches after the starter can't go past the 7th inning? Are you going to trot Maybin out there?

You realize that both him and Bourn play CF, and thats the position that Mallex Smith plays right?

Bourn makes 14 mil this year, and Maybin makes 9. You arent just going to release these players, and eat the money. Plus, Maybin did show flashes last season, and maybe 2016 would be like his first half of 2015. Either way, Mallex Smith had no chance of making the opening day roster with both these guys already here.

Now that Maybin is gone, Smith could make the roster, but Id guess that we would probably wait til around the end of May to bring Smith up.

Well I seem to recall Gomes at one point last year. Based on the way the bull pen pitched this past year, it probably doesn't matter

Well, you can drop a crap bull pen pitcher or three if need be.

You do realize that we have Grilli, Paco Rodriguez, Chris Withrow, Shae Simmons, and Daniel Winkler coming back from injuries last year?

Thats 5 spots of the 25/40 man roster right there.

If you want to melt then melt away. This isn't a bad move though.

Lol. Why melt? I haven't cared enough about th braves in years to "melt". I just find their infatuation with "prospect" pitching hysterically funny. Especially after looking at the batting line ups they were throwing up on the big board the few times I went last year.

Gondeee thinks Barves will use all this cap space to trade for more bad contracts in hopes of getting better prospects (i.e. Touki deal)

Maybin + $2.5 million traded for two lefty relievers. I can't think of their names.

Why is prospect in quotes? By every measurable the arms we have been accumulating are prospects. Judged by baseball scouts more knowledgeable than you or me.
Hysterically funny is stupidly dumb.

What about Teoscar Hernandez? Didn't do so hot at the plate last year, batting only .219 avg but has done better in the past. Bat has a little pop to it with 63 homeruns in 4 years including 17 last year. Might be a decent pickup.

Where you going to stash him?

Swisher, Bourn, Toscano, Marky, Mallex, Eury, Olivera

Imagine one or both of Bourn and Swisher will be traded. If that happens. That leaves Olivera, Mallex, and Marky Mark as our starting OF's.

Is Toscano even a real person at this point??? If he is then this throws this plan out. But Toscano can also play 1st much like Swisher. Eury is bound to end up back in AAA.
