Honestly, being AD at kU means you’re a puppet for Bill Self. You get to run all the other irrelevant sports at kU, but you rank #2 in the AD behind Self. And that’s not exaggeration

Newman isn't that special. There are huge jumps in talent between levels, and Tulane would abuse the hell out of Newman line similar to how the Jags would abuse Alabama.

Besides that what has Dannen accomplished there? Tulane is mediocre at most sports and he ran a pretty good baseball program into the ground. Would it be that big of a loss if he left?

Not a big loss at all if he goes and Fritz stays. Baseball may be better off if he leaves because someone else would be more likely to hire Cannizaro
