yea have no clue...i was told dad transferred and he kind of showed up out the blue. Usually i hear about a transfer if they are some big time player. Didnt even know about this one until last min.

and every school tries to get every kid to go there because if you get enough to show up, chances of finding good kids goes way up.

the historically better schools dont really have to go recruit though in the form of reaching out to kids. kids randomly move into the district just to go to school there....happens at Barbe, WM, SH, live oak, the schools like catholic, jesuit etc. At the public schools this usually happens in middle school, Gavin Guidry an example, moved when he was 12.

as long as they move into the district, who cares

now i dont like how SH has bunch of kids who still live in jennings going there. but if they are going to sit out a year, whatever. SH has a bunch of kids from South LC that would traditionally go to barbe but go there and because of a couple classes they offer there, are eligible immediately if they meet certain criteria

select non select is based off student population % from out of zone

dont get me started....I hate the split and feel like if you have 1 kid from out of zone on the team, should be select.

but i also dont consider talking to a kid and trying to get him to come to your school wrong either.

What is the percentage? Isn't it 20% or 25%? Barbe is very close to being select but keep that number just below the threshold. Baseball would be fine in select. The other sports would not be.

I was just curious. I’m in the camp that if parents want to provide transportation, they should be able to bring their kid wherever they want.

1 time though…. Not multiple transfers like college.

I was for the “one time transfer rule” that got shot down in Jan this year.

100% and im ok with a kid of zone 9th grade and not counting that as the transfer and he gets 1 more from there.

Chalmette gets swept by Northshore 2-0 in Slidell after a 4-2 loss in Chalmette on Tuesday… we fall to 12-13 and have averaged 1.6 runs in our losses.

Bryce Wilson took the loss tonight after losing 1-0 on Saturday… if we don’t make the state playoffs that is probably why.

Yall are struggling on the field and in the classroom up there in WM? For a team full of 17 year old sophomores, 18 year old juniors and 19 year old seniors, yall should be smoking everybody.
