I was thinking my son is a year and a half younger and can't hit a golf ball straight to save his life.

Question for the tiger haters and complainers...

Do you think CBS did a good job of not over-covering tiger yesterday?

After parring the first few holes, they didn't really show his every shot. He was covered pretty close to the other golfers that were around the top 10 at the time.

I know it's always a huge complaint from the non-fans. Just curious.

You know Ranch, this year was probably the worst. I mean, they highlighted Spieth, Rose, and Phil, which I enjoyed. But to keep cutting back to watch every shot Tiger hit was beyond annoying, especially when he started falling apart, and Rory and Hideki were lighting it up. If not for the app, I'd have had no idea either were having that kind of round.

On the flip side, I discovered Direct TV carried the feeds from the app, so I did have some fun with that yesterday.

If they would continue to show only that amount of Eldick when he's not in contention I'd be happy but unfortunately they usually show him constantly when he's stinking it up. Yesterday was done well I thought.

Yea, I'm not really getting anyone's complaints about the amount of Tiger coverage this weekend. They pretty much only showed him as an afterthought yesterday and focused on the leaders. They could have shown more of Mastuyama and Rory though.

Seeing JS win at a young age gives me hope for the young class of Louisiana golfers.

We have been somewhat dormant with our youth / amateur golf showing over the past decade or so. The newest pro golfers seem to be finding their way...our collegiate golfers are not too bad....and we have some real golf talent that looks to all be staying in state with golf scholarships.

The state should be well represented this summer in the NCAAs. I want to see how the regionals go this year.

There's a lot of optimism for golf after a win like JS had yesterday.

10 - 15 used to be the standard when I was around the game. Most of the big name players paid a bonus for a major W. I would imagine that Mike Greller has a pretty good deal with Spieth, as does Bones with Phil, and Joey LaCava with Tiger.

per google, base weekly salary, regardless of cut, plus 5%-10%ish for certain finishes ... agree that the major probably gets a little extra ...
