I'm in a pool for all the majors and need to figure out my strategy for this one. I usually create two entries. And I think that one will obviously be Scheffler from group one, but then I'm thinking I grab guys who are consistent fairway finders, no? That's how I was leaning and my buddy said it's a "short" course and you want bombers who can get up and down from closer to the greens.
What say you? (I need to pick one golfer from each group, standings are determined by the cumulative score to par of your top 4 picks).

Since you already have Scottie picked in Tier 1. Here would be my recommendations:
Tier 2: Sepp Straka
Tier 3: Ben Griffin or Ryan Fox
Tier 4: Justin Rose
Tier 5: Denny McCarthy
Tier 6: Thomas Detry

I like that. I was reviewing the tour stats and Straka was showing up in a lot of the relevant ones for this week.
I'm leaning Bryson or Morikawa for my second entry from tier 1. I believe Bryson has been pretty decent finding fairways in the last two majors, aside from Sunday at the PGA.

Well clearly you shouldn’t pick Morikawa bc he hasn’t won in 597 days
I think Scottie & Bryson are the 2 picks for tier 1, but I’m sure that’s who everyone else will pick as well. Bryson’s iron play will win/lose this one for him. His driver is the best part of his game

I was leaning Morikawa because of his driving stats. The rough will be the great equalizer this week. At least that's what I'm thinking.

Dumb Burns was 9th in the world at 25 years old He has won 5 times ln tour He struggles big times in majors He is a great comp to him
Burns peak was probably better, but Neimann has pretty clearly been the more consistent player over their careers. They’ve been pretty similar in majors to date, but 8 majors from age 26-28 is a pretty big deal.
Neimann is pretty clearly a better player to me

t1: Scottie. Bryson if you're doing a 2nd bracket
T2: Thomas. I would have to pick him almost based on odds. I feel like he has a better shot than numerous guys in T1.
T3: Griffin. I like picking guys that are hot, he's been on fire.
T4: Day. Since it's total score I'd probably go with guys I think are just going to make the cut here since I have a hard time seeing any from this group winning. Rose is pretty safe pick as well.
T5: Novak. Easiest pick of the bunch imo. Personally feel like he's a guy that could contend. Though I probably just jinxed him and you if you pick him.
T6: Hoge. At this point just pick a guy that you think will make the cut.

You need to nuke the ball everywhere except the Open.

Nowhere has been as disqualifying for smaller hitters than the US Open
easier to hit a 9 or wedge out of the rough than a 6/7

Maverick McNealy is playing really well and added distance. Him and Keegan are solid Tier 3 guys. Bradley being very accurate off the tee.
Cameron Young is a bum but he's playing the best golfer of the year right now for himself.

Distance is more important at the US open vs any other major
