As someone wrote earlier, it's all about ratings. Early rounds of golf don't draw the ratings.

I was wondering about this earlier. I’m surprised the opening rounds don’t outdraw Maury and Family Feud. Maybe the combined ratings are better with golf on the secondary channel.

CBS, or any station for that matter, would televise every goddamn second of The Masters on their primary channel if Augusta National let them.
Just a bad comparison. I get where you're going with your argument, but The Masters is a different beast.

The green jackets dictate a lot of things to CBS about their coverage, but I'm not sure which network airs the first two rounds is among them.
