This is happening right as Sinclair/Diamond has started to stop paying their rights deals.

They just stopped paying the Padres who terminated their deal.

There is a real chance the Rangers could have a huge playoff run w/the only way to watch them being a makeshift set up on MLB.TV and hopefully another local cable net.

The Rangers would be running away with it if their bullpen hadn’t shite on many many leads this year.

Haven’t read the rest of the thread yet so could’ve been addressed, but this is why Vegas doesn’t trust Texas for a playoff run.

Of course major bullpen upgrades can be made at the deadline, just depends on how much you wanna part with good prospects

Pretty damn impressive they’re doing all this without deGrom too.

Also, know there’s a ton of time left on his deal so it could eventually be problematic, but man was I wrong about the Semien deal being laughable

Rangers playing great so far. I told a buddy of mine last year they were 2 years away from contention, but they are there now. Should be a fun race.

Eh you know what I meant haha. I’ll say this… since they moved Houston to the AL, they’ve been the bosses.

Part of me wonders how they would have done the past few years in the NL.

Tbh the AL West has mostly been down besides Oakland for a few years and Seattle last season. We timed it perfectly with the end of Texas’ last run

But yeah I’d love to be in the NL central this year

No doubt. Other than Oakland the west is competitive this year.

As of now he is 2nd in MLB in WAR. Plus he has availability, the best ability.

I dont think the wild cards are coming from the central, so there will be 5 spots for (what's looking like) 5 teams, right? Hou, Texas, Tampa, NY, and Balt. Did I do that right?

I think TX gets there.

I think TX gets in the playoffs as well, but too early to count out 2-4 more teams from potentially making a run.

Seattle is better than their record, and so is Toronto.

Anaheim and Boston could get hot, but I wouldn't bet on either of them.

Baltimore has overachieved, but still should be in the race until the end.

I would like to add that I am a huge Stros fan who grew up on Biggio/Bagwell/Oswalt. But those odds just seem too good to pass up. They should be much shorter than that in my opinion. We shall see.

Definitely. I followed Shane Reynolds career as well, he’s a north Louisiana baw.

I also was a big fan of Darryl Kile when I was younger.

Will this season finally start a real rivalry between Texas’s team and that team in the suburbs of Dallas?

I’d low key be melting if I was a Mariners fan cause not long ago it seemed like they’d take the reigns from Houston in the West but now looks like Texas will
