What would be worse for Saints, losing Colston and Moore or Brees? Not all positions are equal.

The ultimate irony is that if the playoff system you advocate existed instead of the BCS, Boise would be no body. TheBCS made them

ETA: The Colts had their top 2 wr and te today, think missing 18 was a factor?

I dont think you can compare nfl to college. you cant deny that auburn has top tier recruiting classes every year whereas boise is in the bottom half. auburn has top tier talent ready to step in. not to mention they were playing a terrible team and boise was playing a sec team with superior athletes.

Depends on the size of the postseason. I think they would definitely an eight team playoff. However, there is no playoff in the near future, and I actually like that. I am one of the few who supports the BCS.

You had to like what you saw in the first half, but lots of fortunate bounces for the Texans that they converted. They sucked in the second half offensively....not playing a FULL game was part of their problem last year, and it continued today. Granted, circumstances were different today but I've yet to see this team play a good 60 minute game. I'm optimistic, but brutal first half schedule could make for an interesting final 8 games...

He was a beast today and in pre season. I'll eat my words on JJ so far. I hated the pic but that guy is always around the football.

You are too obsessed with recruiting rankings and the results of one game. One game does not prove anything except that one team played better that game. Yes UGA has better recruiting classes than Boise. What that means is they have MORE good players, not that all their players are vastly superior. UGA was 6-7 last year, they are not a good team, not matter what their recruiting rankings were. Part of it is coaching, I don't think many people would argue that Richt is a better coach than Petterson.

As for Auburn vs Utah St, they did win, so it was close, big deal. they played like crap, and they have a lot of new starters, young guys as well. They probably didn't take Utah State seriously, while Ut St prolly spent all summer getting fired up to play at Auburn. Motivation and playing 1 game can make a big difference. Utah St and Boise could not play like they did week one over 8 SEC games. The talent difference makes a difference over several games, it can be neutralized for one game under special circumstances.

With AU you are looking at a team most are picking 5th or even 6th in the SEC W. UGA has been picked by some to win the East and by othes 3rd or 4th. UGA and AU this year are not the top of the SEC this year.

The BCS made them relevent, with out it, no body knows about Boise. Before beating OU in the Fiesta Bowl, they barely cracked the top 10. After that in, they have become the cause du jour.

See what playoff advocates, especially NFL fans like you, fail to realize is any playoff in CFB will have to have an arbirary cuttoff. There are too many teams. So whether its a playoff with 2 teams, 4, 8, 16 someone is going to get left out, you can't avoid that. Boise did not crack the top 8 at the end of the season until 2009, they didn't crack the top 16 until 2006. So, if there was always playoff in CFB, (unless it was a 16 team with all conference winners, which has not really been considered), your precious Boise still would not have made it.

So on behalf of the BCS, Boise, you are welcome.

dude, they were up 34-0, with out Foster and they lost Walter. the second half they were just killing clock. Its not CFB, in the NFL its not a good idea to run up the score.

The first 6 are tough, I was hoping they could beat Indy even with Manning then steal one from @NO, Pitt and @Bal, but 3-3 would be ok. The way Pitt and the Saints D looked this week, I feel like they have a better shot at taking at least 1 of those 3.

Looking at the rest of the schedule and with the fact that Dre will be back soon...its not far fetched to think the Texans will win out. Realistically though, I say they lose one more game and finish 12-4 with a first round bye.

I'm thinking 12-4 myself, but that should get a bye. I was hoping for the Steelers to beat Balt since we have tiebreaker over them
