One more thing. I saw Rafa practiced on Centre Court. They have never allowed that until this year. It seems like a bad idea with how worn the court gets by the end. But, maybe they think this will reduce slipping early in the tournament if the court gets broken in a bit.

Something about “to prevent slip injuries let’s have all the top players practice on the court first” is funny to me

Hammer on the bottom half with Nadal. Djokovic draws Alcaraz in the quarters, but who knows how far Carlos will even advance. Would be cool to see Murray make a run in that quarter and match up with Djokovic deep in a slam one more time.

If NK can make a run he’d run into Berrettini in the quarters, I believe.

Honestly a very fair draw overall I’d say.

Good summary. I am too lazy to break it down. At first glance, Novak's draw looked pretty easy and Rafa's not bad other than potential trouble from Slammin Sammy in the second round. But, this isn't Sam Querrey of 5 to 10 years ago.

I'd say Cilic in the 4th round is the biggest worry for Nadal.

Anyone else watching Theim match? So weird how he dropped off this year. It is also because of a complete lack of confidence also. Funny how that can happen to someone. Does he look a little skinnier to anyone? Wondering if he maybe was on PEDs and when coming off had the bad results?

I did not watch at all but surprised he finally pulled off a tour level win. Maybe he is turning the corner on some of the mental and physical issues

He hurt his wrist, right? He beats the crap out of the ball, so that is a tough injury to overcome. Delpo was never really the same after it and had one good US Open run in 2018 after winning it in 2009.

I’m on him tonight at +200 vs. RBA, and you know how much I fangirl RBA. He’s not back to normal just yet but I can’t pass up that line on clay.

Thiem won a grinder today against RBA and looked good. I wondered the other day why he was like seventh favorite to win U.S. Open and 14-1. Somebody knows something or plays gave been coming in on him? I assumed he would be 80-1.

Whatever book that is… they are just ripping off casuals based on his name and the fact that he won it before. Most places have it in the +2500 to +3000 range.

Same with Zverev around 10/1. I’d be surprised if he even plays.

I grabbed some Rafa a while back at 8/1 when it was determined that Novak couldn’t play. I think he’ll eventually be allowed in though. Med and Alcaraz will be tough to beat there.

As much as I dislike 1-handers, there’s no denying the beauty in this…

Nice.

I am jonesing for hardcourt season. Still a few weeks until DC.

Rusty Hewitt made the Hall. I think he is borderline, but I guess one major and hitting number one gets you in and there are a few lesser guys in there.

It might be time for a tennis version of the LIV tour. At the very least it would get people talking about the sport.
