good lord

Teams intentionally try to run the action his direction because he is small and unathletic. He can't stay in front of anyone without fouling. He is in foul trouble often and without Clay guarding the best ball handler every night, he would hands down be known as one of the worst defenders in the NBA.

He is easily the worst defender out of all of the elite players. Worse than Harden. Steph actually gives effort he just isn't quick enough to stay in front of anyone and is small and frail so he doesn't affect anyone's shot when he contests.

He is awfully defensively. Golden State has a lot of long great on ball defenders. They hide him well, but it's apparent he is a defensive liability. He is the person the opposing team want to attack.

Picking out how he grades out on defense when the Warriors have to try and hide him defensively doesn’t tell the whole story.

Because like a dummy they allowed KD to join their team. If not Curry’s legend would be even bigger.

I hope KD doesn’t come back at all and they win another championship. Most will disagree but this team is better without KD and that’s not a knock on KD. He is great player.

If KD doesnt go to Golden state, Lebron is on a three-peat.

Because here are two sides to this game, offense and defense. He may very well be the best offensive player, but he’s nowhere near the top in terms of defense

Golden State has a lot of long great on ball defenders.

These two statements go hand in hand. Steph is the weakest defender on a strong defensive roster, but he is a well above average defender at the point guard position. Of course they are going to attack him when the alternative is to attack Klay, Iguodala, Durant, or Draymond. They are all elite defenders when they want to be.

When you have that luxury as the Warriors, why would you waste even a millisecond of thought not trying to let Curry do what he's best at and exert his energy on the offensive end and let the defensive hosses take care of the dirty work. It's common sense basketball.

Plus, point guards and centers are generally the most exploitable positions simply because of size and foot speed. The Warriors attacked Patrick Beverley in round 1. He's a very good defender, but he's at a huge size disadvantage when he gets attacked and switched off onto KD.

Curry is a better defender than LeBron James at this point.

Ehhhhhh, you're underselling Klay, Iguadala and Green (well, maybe not Green)...
Their backup guard, Livingston, starts on 20 other teams...

Klay is highly underrated, IMO...he's just playing with KD and SC
