Folks, there are two years left. not one. Decades beging with 1's and end on the 10 (e.g., 1-10, 11-20....2001-2010, 2011-2020, 2021-2030, etc.)

So the conjecture is at least one year earl.

But whoever ends with more NC's aftre the 2010 season will have it, assuming all three have two more great seasons with BCS berths. If no one does you'll have to look at BCS bowl records too.

Unless LSU ends up with more NC's than UF or pounds them the way UF did to LSU recently, they are out. As of now, no way you can out them above UF even with the same # of NC's.

But no matter how you count it, the above will determine, IMO.

One season left dude

This coming football season will be the 2009-2010 season

The last CFB season of this decade. The championship games are in 2010. By your theory this decade will still go into 2011 with the BCS games

No. Even though a few bowl games played in 10, the NC will be the 09 NC's, not the 09/10 NC's.

Ok.

Well the stats posted on the first page are of 2000-01 and on

I'm going by that

Didn't the New Millenium start in 2000. The New decade did as well. So did the new century

You see decades start with 0's and end with 9's

CFB decades in terms of end of the years with BCS games, start with 01's and end with 10's

Losing to the same Michigan team that lost to App. State hurts UF.

Pre-Carroll years hurt USC.

Too many 4+ loss years hurt LSU.

Epic fails in bowls hurt OSU and OU.

Epic fails in the Red River Shootout hurt Texas.

IMO, this should be about who was the most consistent, best overall record, best bowl record, and most high draft picks (decent judge of talent).

USC IMO. How many consecutive BCS bowls have they been in?

yeah but high draft picks don't mean as much if a lot turn out to be busts. that just shows what many laymen don't want to admit: NFL GMs are about hype and get caught up in the hype of prospects quite often

I think if UT wins this year, then they are in the discussion. I don't think the same can be said for OU. Their recent BCS troubles hurt their argument greatly. I really think if LSU, UF, or USC wins it this year, that team will have soul claim to team of the decade. If, let's say Penn St wins, I think you have to go with USC. They have 2 titles and pretty much a BCS birth every single season.

OU would have a good argument if they win this year. That would be two national titles (tied with Florida and LSU) and five title game appearances. That's a very strong case/

Southern Cal, not so much. It's like calling the criminoles the team of the 1990s. The criminoles just beat up on a joke of a conference.
