So they are okay with doing a one off deal against a mid-level ACC school's home, but a game against the cream of the Big Ten crop - a game that if they had one could have really helped them in the pecking order - was just undoable. Yeah I'm not buying it. These non-AQs are happy with the occasional 11-1/12-0 season and having ESPN champion their cause right into a bowl game they have no business being in.

The Big Ten champ defeated Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl.
So you are basically admitting that they don't and shouldn't have to play anyone worth a hobo's asshair because you think they should get the benefit of the doubt even though they play a shithouse schedule year in and year out. I mean can you honestly say that a school whose biggest regular season wins were Baylor and Utah deserves a BCS Bowl over say... LSU? Alabama?

Perception is what it is, but the computers ranked TCU strength of schedule just about even with both Ohio State and Wisconsis last year if I remember correctly. All of them were somewhere in the high 60s or mid 70s. So much for the "playing the big boy" argument. The numbers don't lie...

And in 2007, a win over which team do you think would have seriously helped the perception of their program: Virginia or Ohio State?
First rule of advertising: It's not value but the perception of value that you are selling to the target audience.
I'm glad INTEGRITY is high on my list of values.
TCU had already scheduled the game against Virginia MONTHS prior to Ohio contacting them. Why would they back out of a home/home agreement at the last minute to go play a 1-and-done at Ohio!?!
You think if TCU had accepted - Ohio would be willing to come play in Fort Worth on the day Virginia is scheduled?
Same thing is happening with Wisconsin right now... This is where I see integrity entering the picture again. TCU's season opener is at Baylor (a LOOOOOONG time rival) - and has been set for quite some time. They're no powerhouse - but at least they honored their agreement and came to Ft Worth last season.
Don't you find it odd that 100+ teams CONSTANTLY "fail to reach an agreement" with each other while sorting out their game schedules... but they don't make for ESPN front-page headlines? It's not TCU who is bringing this stuff to the press... nor is it ENTIRELY the other schools' fault either (I do cut Whisky a little slack here).
This write-up does a fair assessment of the situation IMHO.

And what big boys did TCU play in the regular season? Utah? Baylor? Oregon State?
Come on are you really going to tell me that TCU's schedule was on the same level as MSU/OSU/Wisky's schedules? I know that the Big Ten is no SEC, but to act like they don't have some solid, competitive teams in that conference is just plain silly, especially when you compare it to the schedule that TCU played.

You need to start yourself a little blog where you do nothing but rail against TCU and vent out all the frustrations the Horned Frogs continually bring out in you. Seriously... I'm afraid that one day you're going to be casually putting some grape jelly on some toast and give yourself an aneurysm.

just clarifying that I'm kidding around with ya.

Yal are crazy if you think there is one single BCS conference team that would schedule a one-time away game at Wisconsin. Seriously, you're insane if you think that.

This happens more times than you think brah. Also, TCU is not a BCS conference team.

TCU's job is to schedule whomever they please, period.
Their job isn't to impress you; they've already proven they're one of the big boys.
Number of schools with more BCS appearances than TCU: 15
Number of schools with more BCS wins than TCU: 13
But you have an opinion! Awesome!

We (South Carolina) had the same number of wins over BCS programs (6) this past season, as TCU has in the last 3 seasons COMBINED. Yeah they are a big boys alright.

Link? We beat the breaks off of Boise when we played them. No reason why we can't do the same to some frogs.

We also play them far more than they do. I'd rather lose to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, etc. and know that we are at least playing elite competition on a regular basis, than beat up on New Mexico and Colorado State and San Jose State.

when will they start recruiting like one?
they had their best season ever and pulled in the 26 rated class by rivals.

ESPN said that only one of their top 150 recruits signed with a non-BCS school. Yeah these guys are loaded with elite talent.

Ok I lied, I'm back in this thread, but I had to respond to this
There was a 3 way tie in the B1G last year, the highest ranked team went to the Rose Bowl. They also defeated the team that won the Sugar Bowl.
Your fundemental problem is you are a snob frankly. You view everything as absolute, when there are degrees of difference. No one is saying that TCUs schedule is on par with most SEC teams. You are over obsessed with the names on the schedule, your comment about hobos is cute, but its just hyperbole. The teams TCU played are not literally crippled children, they are D1 athletes. Not as good as most SEC teams, but the gap is not as wide as you think. No matter what they do, youj will not give them credit. Looking only at names on the schedule and not how teams do or what unbiased ranking like SOS and the computers say is either lazy or unwillingness to look at fact if the don't confirm your bias.

elite programs are defined by the talent they attract. not beating up on shitty conference teams and 2nd tier teams in BCS games.
