SMU AD is a moron. Wouldn’t shock me if it happened. Sonny looks to have several suitors after him this year. He won’t be at SMU past December.

I get that Snyder isn't still coaching K-State but why in the sudden is losing to K-State a reason to get fired. That's two teams in the last two weeks that canned their coach the day after losing to K-State.

Patterson essentially begged his boosters and community to pony up and start paying players in NIL deals a couple months ago because he knew they were about to be raided by bigger programs and even being mediocre there would be unsustainable with the moves the Big 12 shitshow was making.
Guess he didn't hear back from anyone with any promise... So he told them, frick it, I'm out.
Recruting for guys like Patterson will always be an issue. He probably hated doing it, and finally couldn't take it anymore.
I think he'd actually be a decent NFL coach because he was such a great X's and O's guy. I guess he just never pursued it and now he's in his 60s.
I wonder if he re-emerge in a couple of years at a bigger program or goes the broadcast/semi-retirement route.
