It is BAD in both.

But the NFL has penalties for touching the QB in the head. This shite NEVER gets called in college. Like, swiping the head, barely. I've seen QBs get taken down multiple times today by the neck.

Then try falling as a rusher and trying to keep making a play in the NFL. You can't touch a QB's legs. That, again, never gets called in college.

Defensive holding in the NFL REALLY offsets which level is worse.

Defensive holding in the NFL is NUTS.

I'll even go as far as saying the college rules SEEM like they're an attempt to protect players.

NFL rules REALLY seem like an attempt to keep the chains moving.

NFL rules are insanely restrictive. You basically can’t go below the belt line, or above the chest.

No doubt about it. We'll go 2 weeks and not even think about this stuff. And then have nights like this that damn near ruin the experience.

Tonight has been incredibly bad.

Heard a stat in a game earlier today, the # of targeting penalties this year has gone way, way up. Almost 30% year over year.

It's clearly something refs are now calling willy nilly.

Sad to see football being gutted.

College isn't as bad as the NFL yet in terms of being over policed but it's trending in the wrong direction.

Correct.

If you're in the NFL, you can't tell me that in 2017, you shouldn't have a PP7 type athlete on offense.

He's just better served on offense. Can you imagine if he played WR with these rules?

Now clearly more goes into it than that. Dude has always played CB(at top levels).

And you need guys to stop the offense.

But shite, nobody in the NFL cares about creating less points.

We are 100% headed towards max points in the NFL. Which means less hitting, btw.

It's not a bad rule in theory. It's just written terribly and officials are awful at using their judgment on players intent.

Idc how it's written.

It isn't enforced by the written rules.

THAT is what's maddening.

Lol at you making excuses. College is headed down the same path. Keep fighting the good fight though.

You hear any rumblings about college penalizing the slaps in the head or leg tackles?

Until then, what we hate about college targeting isn't half as bad as the NFL, and it's fixable.
