Why can’t Baker have nice things! Liam was his 7th OC. He has never had same OC 2 years in a row. Tampa had a deal and just needed signed, woulda made him best paid OC. Now he sneaks out and takes this HC job. Likely lots of cash in the deal can’t blame him. But dammit for Baker.

I can confirm that Liam Coen has notified the Bucs he's taking the Jaguars' head coaching job. Wild turn in last two days, taking his name out of Jags' search to get a nice raise and stay with Bucs, only to change course for much larger raise and top job in Jacksonville.

So what changed for Liam Coen? He got on the plane to Jacksonville after Jags' ownership called him directly and explained they will let him pick the general manager and would pay him "Ben Johnson" level money along with multiple years, per sources.

Guaranteed money, doesn’t matter if fired after 1 season.

Baker’s being compensated very, very well.

He’ll manage.

Nearly every team with an opening the past two years wanted Ben Johnson. That’s why he was able to set his price, and reset the market by millions of dollars for a first time head coach.

The Jaguars were the only team that wanted Liam Coen. If they are willing to pay him Ben Johnson money and give him the power to pick his GM, then he had to take the job.

He’ll immediately get an OC job and have a lot more money.

Amazing how much better jags outlook looks compared to yesterday morning.

This is 3:38 of some melts. He really did ghost them. Again, this is huge money and power but for the fans and sportscasters it was betrayal. Crazy situation.

Recall, Baker took a team friendly deal loaded with incentives. He will be fine, but has to learn another system. I wonder if there is any system left he hasn’t played in. Maybe they should just give the OC title to him he likely knows more than half the OC’s out there from his experiences.

Edit: Some NSFW language
