That is how they have skirted the name issue, they claim the nickname is "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns" and not just "Ragin Cajuns".

The pnly thing that makes this issue wierd is that they are trying to call themselves UL which then implies ULM is a satelite school. It is all a play for state funding by ULL.

LSU: 2 changes
McNeese: 2 changes
ETA: And if you count the illegal name change that UL pulled (which apparently you are), then they have changed their name more times that LA Tech as well.

Lol...what a doink you are. I guess i should have said not much of a difference, since relatively speaking there isn't any significant difference between the schools. Which is the point.....and still valid.

What constitutes a "significant difference" when it comes to name changes? I mean, the school has been known by 5 different names (counting the illegal change) in alittle less than 120 years. LSU hasn't changed it's name in over 100 years.
ULL has had an identity crisis for much of it's existence. It couldn't take being USL so much so that it changed it's name without legislative approval.
