No idea, but I strongly suspect they'll still do 2024, that's what all the planning is centered around and they would probably want to keep it on even numbers that are divisible by 4

Has the IOC come out and said anything official? Yesterday they were backing off what the Canadians were saying. USOC probably was the final blow when they begged out for a year or so.

This is going to be a shitshow for the athletes. Most of them who do only "olympic" sports take the year after off because they use the 3 years before to prime for the one olympic year.
For those who already qualified for 2020, do they auto qualify for 2021 or do they have to requalify?

Olympics need to die anyways. Although they do is bankrupt countries not called the US and China and put a strain on the rest of the world for decades.

They just need to rotate through 4 or 5 cities. Cities that could also host regional events and world championships, etc.

I haven't seen anything official but I've heard that the next Olympics would remain in 2024.

What? You do know there are other events in all sports that occur every year like nationals. World events usually occur between most olympic years. The athletes train and compete each and every year.

This isn’t true. Track and swimming both host world championships in the odd years that are just as competitive as the Olympics. That is in addition to having other meets.

Yes, hosting the Olympics has unfortunately evolved into a gigantic taxpayer funded scam.
The IOC and government officials essentially enriching themselves at the local taxpayer's expense. Exceptionally irresponsible when it comes to already poor nations.
In a sane world you would have a list of countries and cities that already have a robust infrastructure and rotate it amongst them.
