I think the point people are trying to make about "Duty. Honor. Country." being on the jersey is that it's redundant.
Everyone watching Army play football GETS it. You don't have to beat them over the head with it.
It would be less obvious if the back of the jersey read "I am in the Army and I need you to believe that I am patriotic because that's what we are all supposed to be. Because we are in the Army."
It doesn't mean you don't love your country because you don't care for the slogan. It just means you prefer subtlety. That's all.

"Duty. Honor. Country" was only on the back of the jersey they wore for Veterans Day. Their regular uniforms have "West Point" on the back.

Military Academies. Ok. I get it. But western michigan? Row the Boat?
Do they have a NCAA championship in rowing or something?

Nope. It's just some saying the new coach brought with him.

Exactly. It's just sort of classless. You are West Point - a top military academy. You don't need cheesy slogans on the back of a football uniform. It's like a tv commercial for Harvard or something. Just unnecessary.

why don't they have their names on them and have a slogan below the numbers?
it's just something for everyone to look up the meaning to... no different than Arizona's BEAR DOWN or the V on Fresno State's field
