are you just looking at attendance figures?

I know the A&M/Georgia game was nowhere near what they listed so I have a hard time believing any of the other numbers.

They listed 41k for last years Mizzou/UNC and that ain't anywhere near true either.

I have had a hard time finding video of that Bama/CU game but I did find some of Ralphie running in and what they show looks pretty decent.

But I also noticed that was a night game. I'm guessing that helped attendance quite a bit.

It used to be 7pm on NYE instead of 1pm on a Friday. That won't stop the Tech bitches from disparaging comments.

Yeah that's a disappointment. I thought it was tonight and I was looking fwd to watching it tonight, there's no way I can see it now and I didn't set the DVR either.

I remember the Indy Bowl wasn't terrible. I went to the LSU/Notre Dame game and then again in 2003 when Arky played Missouri. It's usually a bowl I'll try to watch no matter who is in it. I guess I missed it last year, but the year before Air Force and Georgia Tech was a decent game.

I do think it would have been awesome if Tech played Monroe in this. Battle of North La and at home, would have been a huge win for everyone. But I figured Ohio wouldn't be a total let down since the Monroe fans can def make the trip, bandwagon "anyone Louisiana" fans could make it, and I thought Ohio had a pretty good fan base. But it's not looking too good as far as the crowd goes.

The stadium can hold 53,000. I'll compare to ULM Ohio once they release the number

well attendance seems to be measured in terms of "tickets sold" rather than "butt in seat". So they probably sold 41,000 tickets

If its tickets sold don't be surprised when they announce 42-43k for this one.

thats the thing though.

how many of those were truly sold to fans vs what was forced on the two schools, given to charity groups, and purchased by sponsors?

it looked like a 50/50 split at best and most of the La Tech fans left at the half.

If I remember correctly, Tech fans did not want to play in this bowl. Your school would not have bought tickets so the attendance would not have been much difference than it is today.

Yeah, I'm sure the Tech fans would have boycotted if they would have had to settle for the Indy bowl. lolz

No it wasnt?

Tech and A&M both filled their sidelines, and then Tech had an entire endzone filled with students.

Without students it was 50/50
