What's surprising is that he is shooting over 40% from the three in this series, it hasn't seemed like it

Maybe I'm talking out of my arse like Jim Carrey, but hasn't analytics proven also that a midrange jumper is essentially pointless? ie the lower FG% of midrange jumper makes it more worthwhile to step back to at least get the extra point from 3 point land that makes up any drop in %?

It just shows the advancement of the game due to information. I'm sure every one back then just followed the "common sense" logic that you should shoot as close to the basket as possible all the way to the least "likely" shot, which is the 3. Now we know stepping back 2 feet is worth it.

I think that's kind of neat.
