The Blues were the dominant team for 80% of the game so you knew they'd get the puck luck somewhere.

They earned it.

It's interesting because San Jose for sure has the better D and probably forwards than Colorado (for sure if Pavelski is healthy).

But Martin Jones is not good at all and Grubauer has been playing pretty well so SJS may be a better matchup due to their weak goalie.

I’d be terrified of either one

SJS is really good and for me Nathan MacKinnon is probably the best player in the NHL, minus Conor McDavid who obviously isn’t in the playoffs

How the frick did you guys get out of the cap hell with all ur goalies so quick? Werent u paying Niemi a shite ton? And there was another goalie as well besides Bishop?

Niemi and Lehtonen. Very dark times for us

Thankfully, the $7.5 mil of Spezza comes off along with the $5 mil for Methot. We need to pay Zuccarello (which he has earned).

I know it likely won't happen, but I'd see the market on Benn. At the same time, I think if you found one more second-liner so you could keep the Benn-Seguin-Rads trio as your first that may help him out.

Need a defenseman or two. Polak has been serviceable, but this game is speeding past him. Oleksiak played well when he was healthy and Lovejoy was an experienced third-line guy, but you need someone to pair with Miro

You should take a shot at them on how winners get sprinkles.

For two teams I don't have much interest in, I enjoyed the jawjacking back and forth between you guys. I'm gonna miss McBro's manic depressive posting.

I can't get over how good that Robert Thomas line played this series. Those guys are heroes.

Thomas is +5 in the playoffs.

If Thomas has truly emerged the Blues are going to be hard to beat the rest of the way.

Binner never lets in the softies that's killed us in the past.

Eight to go!

Didn't show up on the scoreboard, but absolutely dominant win. You can't have 2 shots in 2 periods of a Game 7 and expect to win... though the Stars maybe had the better chances in overtime. Give credit to Binnington, who had top make some spectacular saves after sitting on his arse doing nothing for two hours. It's hard to go from total inaction to then having to make a highlight reel save.

The game winner pretty much showed the difference in the teams: the Blues outworked the Stars. The Stars spent most of the night hemmed in their own end while the Blues relentlessly attacked with their forecheck. Yeah, they didn't take high percentage shots, but they were clearly playing for rebounds. In the end, they won on a rebound because Heiskenen couldn't tie up Maroon's stick. It was a 50-50 puck, but the Blues outworked the defender to get a stick on the game winner. It wasn't luck, it was work rate. You throw 54 shots on net... there's gonna be the occasional juicy rebound.

Great series. Fun game Game 7. Hope COL-SJS is half as good.

Amazed a hockey team can play darn near four and one-half periods and not draw one penalty....just a thought as I whistle while strolling through the graveyard

Hard to complain about the ref when he gets the primary assist on the only goal your team scores all night.

Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.

I'm not going to dare to dream, but this has been pleasant so far.

Maroon and Bishop are going to help St. Louis grow into an even better hockey factory. Maroon is Wickenheiser to the younger generation.
