You know another thing that bothers me about offside replay? Its one sided.
You cant dispute a play the was called offside as the attacking team. I understand the response "why whould you" but hear me out.
Every other play that is review able in all the major sports can have alternate positive outcomes for either team that questions the call.
Was he out or safe?
Was in bounds when he caught the ball or not? Spot of the ball?
was it a goal or not? (hockey)
was it a homerun or not?
All teams have access to this depending on which side of the coin you are on.
In the NHL the only reason to call a challenge to an offside is if the other team scored. You cant challenge an offside that went against you.
I just dont think the NHL thought this whole thing through, which isnt suprising

But what good will it be to challenge it? You can't replicate the situation. I guess if it's a breakaway would be only thing and if called offside you challenge you win you get a penalty shot.
