This Kings v Sharks game is football on ice. Crap, it's rough out there.

And its exactly what we all expected. This is the series that I was most interested in seeing, outside the Blues/Hawks, because the teams are so similar.

You will get no dissing from me from here on out. You dont run into fellow lifelong hockey types around here very often.

What age and level are you coaching?

I never dissed it I just commented about its operational shape the times I was in it and you thought I was a NDSU fan I think. I believe we worked it out though.

What HS did you go to in Sioux City? One of our team Captains was from Souix City my last year as student mgr @ SMS

He is now the Strength Coach at Stephen F Austin

Coaching Bantam A/AA this year. We play A in Minnesota, AA if we were to come to St. Louis, Chicago, etc.

Nice. Thats the "new" checking age so that's a challenging and important age to coach.

Big difference for you and I going from squirts to peewees and the physical aspect of the game then going from peewee to bantam and getting thrown to the wolves.

I may be old school but I never liked that change. I think peewees were a great age to introduce that to kids. Oh well.

ETA: Thanks for giving back to the game my man.

They are starting the cheap shots behind the play now. This series is going to have one huge brawl in it I believe. LA is starting to hit anything that moves, legally and illegally.

Lucic is starting to goon it up

5 on 3 2 minutes

Completely agree. Bantams is not near as physical as it used to be though, in some places. If you play up in Northern MN or Fargo it is rough. Heck, Pee Wee games are full contact there. It's called tighter in the Cities, and in the Midwest or Wisconsin it might as well be non-contact.

I think they should move checking back to pre-puberty ages. 13-14 yrs old there is just too big of difference in player maturity.

I had LA pegged for a serious Cup run. Not looking good as of right now.

Once they drew the Sharks first round I knew it was trouble for them. San Jose may end up winning whole thing. They're built to beat LA and in turn, that's good enough to win it.

Yep. TEACH them the physical part of the game before they are physically mature enough to become reckless and dangerous.

Checking is very much a learned skill. Many outside the sport dont understand that.
