Handling the puck is a skill as important as keeping the puck out of the net.
I once saw a goalie in a U16 AAA game score on himself doing something similar. Unfortunately it was our team!

My son was a goalkeeper in soccer. I asked him which had more pressure: goalkeeper in soccer or goalie in hockey.
He said hockey, hands down.

On one hand that was a blatant double minor high sticking penalty that they missed. On the other hand it was Cory Perry who got hit in the face so I'm not going to cry over it.
