2/10. If you're this salty when VGK are losing...you may want to seek suicide prevention if VGK win the series.

Especially when they win the series in game 6

Far be it from me to defend sms (even a cursory glance at my posting history with him will reveal a an almost Hatfield McCoy’s hatred) but he’s speaking to the bullshite employed by the NHL to make the VGKs not only competitive but almost advantaged in their inaugural season-I’ve never seen anything like it for an expansion team.

Granted I barely pay attention to hockey but it seems that teams would give up the same players if they had to do it again and it was accepted that Vegas would still suck.

It seems like there is a lot of hindsight being tossed around

Mmmmh maybe from American hockey analysts but north of the border there was an awful lot of talk about how the way things were shaking out it was gonna be far different from say the Columbus blue jackets first few years for instance...

I've caught his act before, so I knew what he meant...and I've heard this from many others. I'll just say what I told every everyone else...even with all of those "advantages" everyone had VGK to be a bottom tier playoff team AT BEST. Most had them missing the playoffs altogether. Seattle paid even more $$$ to enter the NHL than VGK did, so they'll get just as many (if not more) opportunities. The litmus test will be how they do with them. SMS also called VGK to lose to SJ last round and we saw how that went.

That's why I'm hoping for the best but expecting the Jets to win the series. To use the popular Vegas adage, we're playing with house $$ at this point.

That they would maybe be better faster than any other expansion team-that they had to be good quick or the Florida Panthers model couldn’t happen again in the sunbelt.

Like making sure they can get more than just 4th liners in an expansion draft? I'm not exactly sure what people are getting at when they say Vegas has an unfair advantage, other than the expansion draft being more favorable than it once was. Do y'all think Vegas somehow had a favorable schedule or something? That's hard to orchestrate over an 82 game season. I'm not even saying there isn't maybe something to what you are claiming, I'm just not sure what it is specifically.

SMS' paranoia seems to be near-conspiracy theory level at times when it comes to VGK.

The third goal probably should have been disallowed, the call on the ice should have stood. Was hard to tell if the puck was already past him when the contact was made. The offensive player looked to make contact with Fleury's stick before the puck was past. But it was close.

Also the penalty which led to WPG's second goal on the PP was pretty weak. They called Tuch for a hook but it looked like Little was holding his stick and hamming it up. All this is to say that the subpar officiating which has plagued these playoffs continues. But the Jets are playing a good game, I think they close this one out.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a compelling narrative...and I was somewhat surprised they kept winning through the regular season-but with MAF in goal they were always gonna be competitive. The team concept seems to be strictly adhered to as well.

Typically a expansion draft was fourth liners and well worn veterans with nothing left in the tank-but the new fans could recognize them from past exploits...plus Gary Bettman is a cartoon villain...

I gotcha, no worries.

If VGK are going to advance, thus far I see 3 things that need to be addressed:

1) Eliminate the dumb penalties

2) The aforementioned better defense in front of the net

3) Sometimes, they're a little TOO unselfish. Too often, they're looking to pass when they have shooting opportunities. William Karlsson sees an opening and he pounces. Others need to be more that way.

Good game to the Jets. They were the better team tonight and it showed.

Hopefully, VGK come back with a better effort Monday night.
