Heck of a game by Predators last night, and those jump-screens by Arvidsson #33 sure work, don't they? The Pens got a win while not playing that great, one can't complain when that happens. No matter NHL rulings, Washington has to play with more intensity or their going to get Penned again. Mental toughness is very important and to be a NHL Champion, one has to overcome whatever adversity comes your way.
Huge game for the Lightning tonight!!! Hopefully the Lightning get different results compared to the other series, all tied at 2-2, and get a 3-1 series advantage tonight. I sure hope the Lightning's top line figures it out soon, Boston has done a swell job keeping them in check...
Go Lightning !!!!

Flat out dominated. The Caps and Pens combined for a mere 34 shots on goal at evens, which is strikingly low for two teams that talented. But the real coup for Pittsburgh is that the Caps had just THREE shots in the third period. If you're nursing a one-goal lead, not much better of a salve than completing denying the other team any chance to shoot.
Now, the Caps turned down some opportunities by overpassing, particularly on some odd man rushes, but by and large, this was just an example of killer defense. The Penguins looked a lot like they did in last year's playoffs: clogging the middle and denying possession, waiting for the odd man rush to get their one goal and sit on it for the rest of the game. This was by far the Penguins best game of the series. They had a plan to strangle the life out of the game, and it worked. Once they got the lead, they denied any chances at either end of the ice and ran out the clock. It was a real force of will performance.
Three game series, let's go back to DC and maybe change up those lines a bit to create more offense. Key stat of the game: Ovechkin had zero shots on goal. That rarely happens. Pittsburgh destroyed his line all night, probably because DSP couldn't really fill the Tom Wilson role board battler role. I love DSP, but he's a man of limited skill. He's a terrific third liner, but he's out of his element on the top line.

The Nashville vs Winnipeg series is incredible.
Winnipeg is going to be good for a long, long time. Love watching them play.

Laine is the truth. I love watching him play so much.

Yeah idk if I've ever seen someone shoot it like him in the variety of angles and releases.
Love watching Ehlers play too, he's so goddamn fast and shifty. Also Stastny is a perfect fit for that team with the speed they have around him.
