carrying an 8 seed with a 16-4 playoff record and winning SCF mvp carries weight

not agreeing or disagreeing but quicks accomplishments are noteworthy

Thanks for series schedule listings OP, sweet

Wooo hoooo
Best playoff in sports is here

After Lightning missing playoffs last year, it's awesome to see them involved in the greatest, best, toughest grind championship race around. We're tickled-pink that our favorite team, the Lightning, having a chance to raise "The Cup" this season. One of the coolest feelings/memories is watching favorite hockey team skate with "The Cup". Most earned trophy in sports, without question...

Not sure how Lightning will do these playoffs, but we'll find out soon enough if they've got another gear or not. They've struggled since ALL-STAR break, but at times the Lightning look the part of a legit champion. Defensive play and goalie, Vasilevskiy, will most likely decide how deep the Lightning go. Plus Kucherov needs to have a good start so he gets the bad mojo off-his-back. The Lightning has been missing Kucherov's game deciding type plays lately, and the Lightning's vibe hasn't been the same during stretch. The Lightning are facing a tough opponent, Devils, in first round and they'll have to play solid hockey to win series.

Here we go...

Go Lightning !!!!

NHL truly struck gold with Vegas. It's obviously easy to support a winner, but the guys on NHL Network are raving about the atmosphere there and how much they've bought into hockey as a city. Not only that, developing a rivalry with the Kings, which makes it more fun. I would really like to head out to a game there.

I know some call Quick the best American Goalie to play but I still don’t see him better than Richter. I say it’s
Richter
Quick
Miller

I'd go Miller for his Olympic heroics. Yes, they didn't win, but he almost single-handedly won a gold medal. Miller was so damn awesome, it's not his fault he played for horrific teams for most of his career.

Also, while I wouldn't quite put him on the same level, Corey Schneider has the highest save percentage of an American-born goalie ever. I like your list, but I'd put Miller on top and put Schneider on it as a courtesy, though he's probably behind the other three.

It's a great experience. T-Mobile Arena has excellent seating everywhere, is right on The Strip (behind New York, New York) and has pretty easy access both coming and going.

This series with the Kings is gonna be brutal. Quick played out of his mind last night after giving up that early goal. The one thing that still concerns me with VGK is something that I noticed about midway through the season. Outside of William Karlsson, they seem to be a little too unselfish at times. Guys that have a good shooting opportunity are passing instead.

Great first night, particularly for new venues. Winnipeg's return to the playoffs and 1st win ever was pretty great. They invented the white out back in the day, so its cool to see playoff hockey back where it belongs. And the popcorn celebration by the guy behind the goal was sweet. Well done, random Jet fan.

Vegas was... well, it was a Vegas. It was over the top, a little hokey, and covered in neon. It was also super fun and already a great home environment against what is their most logical geographical (and monikered) rival. The San Jose Sharks twitter feed even threw shade at them. Wonderful. Let the hate flow. It makes for a better playoff.

It appears the Flyers are at peak Flyer Goalie already. That didn't take long. I'm not sure why it took so long for Elliot to get the hook. Maybe everyone on the bench is drunk. I doubt it would have mattered anyway.

If just off Olympic heroics only then LeBlanc and Craig have to be in conversation I’d think?

I can’t remember Snow or Hirsch’s times at all in Olympic net.

Well, Miller also won a Vezina Trophy, is 4th all-time in wins, and top 25 in career save percentage. I'm just saying his Olympic run helps put him over the top, and I don't care about his lack of team success because he played for the Sabres for a decade.

I understood what you meant I was trying to open up the conversation to include a subset from my original comment. I just think Richter winning the Cup and WC in Canada gives him the edge over Quick and Miller.
