There was an episode of SportsCenter where they kept working in lines The Princess Bride into the highlights. That was pretty damn good.
Another one that stands out was SVP calling a home run and yelling out “I am William Wallace!!”

The ESPN commercial were Stuart Scott and fellow announcer are trying to get a TD dance for a NFL receiver and Scott goes old school with a tirade of moves with the football and at the end goes Booyah while holding out the football. The receiver comes right back with, Boono.

While Stuart Scott certainly popularized the phrase “cooler than the other side of the pillow”, he did not coin it. Wayne Walker, doing color for 49ers described Joe Montana as being “cooler than other side of pillow” in 1980 (Scott was ~ 15 then)

Homer to dead center
Steve Levy: if it’s fair it’s gone.
This will never not be funny to me.

I heard Bob Costas use "cooler than the other side of the pillow" when I was in high school. Graduated May 1979.

quote:This is correct.
See I always heard that as the NFC Norse Division due to the location, Scandinavian heritage, and the Minnesota Vikings link.

Spending 30 years in Cincinnati was a treat listening to Marty Brenaman. Such gems as:
- after a strike out “he returns to dugout bat in hand”
- when a pitcher was getting shelled and was about to get pulled “the manager has see enough”

A good craftsman doesn’t blame his tools.

I think Anderson coined it but when he would throw to hockey highlights he would say - “Red Wings and Stars on the frozen water”
