frick SI. It's sad to see how far they have fallen. They were the standard for sports media just 20 years ago.

Team Sophie.

That's Kim Jong Un.

A lot of you people have no idea how business works.

The WNBA is made up of about I dunno, 70% masculine lesbians. Ok. And the primary people that watch this league or attend games are this very audience. This is a close knit community

So they are in a tough spot because if they disillusion their core fans by trying to appeal to a broader demographic, they risk losing the only people that have ever cared about their league. And this broader demo that they could chase, isn’t watching a girls basketball league full of lesbians. They never will. This isn’t a family friendly league. It’s a counter culture product.

“The WNBA is running off fans” lmao…gtfo. They are trying to save the only demo that has ever cared about them (far leftists) fron turning on them. This is why they aren’t embracing Clark. She’s a threat to the core audience.

Agree with everything you said up until this.

Caitlin agrees with their idealogy. She literally apologized for being white and said she had white privilege.

Theres just a lot of people that dont agree with that so they apply their own beliefs to caitlin clark even tho she has stated she disagrees.

I don’t think core WNBA fans want a straight white woman as the face of the league when the league is made up of 70% black lesbians. Even if Caitlin claims to support whatever they support, she will never be “one of them”. And I think WNBA higher ups recognize this.

It’s like the mafia. You gotta be Italian or you won’t be accepted. For WNBA core product/fans, “their thing” is an exclusive counter culture club of lesbians/far leftists. And core fans are definitely at odds with the bandwagoners who may watch a game bc they heard about Clark, but in no way are women’s basketball fans.

The only parallel I can come up with is AEW wrestling. AEW fans, which are much smaller amount than WWE, value exceptional athletic wrestling. It’s a niche product. They would not want Roman Reigns in the company bc he isn’t what they perceive as value. They would not want AEW to try to be more mainstream like WWE bc AEW would lose the hard core fans and they wouldn’t win any of the casuals either. I see WNBA thinking the same way. They aren’t gonna try to piss off their niche base by promoting Clark.

Sophie took down Jacy Sheldon via headlock in a similar fastbreak situation last year.
