After what took place this week in college football, I find it very hard to wager any money on sports. 2 simple examples

The Michigan debacle / cover-up.

The SEC office coming after LSU and tipping their hand that they are pissed off (officiating ramifications for future games).

I made $50 this past weekend, I knew that Michigan wasn't covering the spread

It's called gambling for a reason.

There are games like this every year, especially ones with very heavy public betting tickets/money percentages, I try to stay away from those. To be honest if you play the market, it is very similar and always manipulation.

Hard to impact the game if LSU wins by 40+

I do a lot of stock trading and I dabble in the sports projections market.

The only sport I feel like you have an advantage if you do some homework is UFC, specifically the under card. 65% of the time you can find a women’s match where the underdog legitimately has a chance if not actually the favorite. It gets even more specific if you are fighting in other countries as the ufc throws gimme fights a lot to home field fighters.

If you pay attention you can make money in there.

I've been on the positive side for 2 years now with this strategy:

-Use multiple sites
-Only bet when boosts are offered.
-MLB: always bet money line dogs after all-star break.
-Fade all picks made by megan makin money and/or on the barstool quick picks show.
-Start betting in tennis only when it gets to round of 16, and dogs.

I feel like it's all to increase ratings. Eyeballs have been going to Big 10 of late a little more than they'd like.

If you're obsessive you can occasionally take advantage of arbitrage. But in order to make any meaningful money that way it's basically a job.

I’ve turned that into a side gig, done pretty well over the years.

Sites do start limiting what you can do though.

I confine my sports betting to Vietnamese ping pong and Albanian developmental league soccer.
