this would have been the best.

also, that 98 Vikings team not making the superbowl was such a let down.

No one was gonna touch that 04 USC squad in the Orange Bowl. Auburn would have been dismantled as well.

Kinda like Miami in the 2002 Rose Bowl. No one would have had a prayer

I'd have loved to see either 2011 LSU or Alabama vs the Auburn team of the year before.

Yup.... IMO the golden age of the NFL was the 70's. Always wanted a Raiders/Cowboys SB back then.....

That PSU offense was sick.

People are enamored with Nebraska because of 1995...but that 1994 wasn't there yet. I mean they had 4, 10-point and under victories...including one against Wyoming where they gave up 32 points in Lincoln...to Wyoming.

I still think PSU just annihilates them on offense.

'83 Nebraska (The exploits of Turner Gill and Mike Rozier in the 1983 Nebraska offense are legendary.)
'05 Texas ( Texas steamrolled the competition, averaging more than 50 points a game and scoring 60 or more four times.)
'95 Nebraska ( They outscored Michigan State and Arizona State in September by a combined 127-38 and wrapped up a perfect regular season with a 37-0 win over Oklahoma that could have been much worse.)
'94 PSU (averaged 47 points per game and around two minutes per scoring drive.)
'05 USC (This team had 19 players drafted — three QBs, seven OL, four RBs, three WRs and two TEs — off of the offense and was so deep that Mark Sanchez was the third-string quarterback.)

Are the best offenses I've seen in my .

Beating an 8-5 team. How awesome.

Well he said matchups...it was at Auburn and Auburn was ranked #6 in the coaches poll at the time...somebody made them quit.

It's funny that year, the one common opponent they had was almost identical margin of victory.

USC 23-0
LSU 31-7

Nobody beat Auburn that year worse in the SEC compared to USC and LSU.

They were 74-40 and 6 games ahead in their division

notable players on their roster:

Marquis Grissom (won WS with ATL in 95)
Moises Alou
Larry Walker
Cliff Floyd
Darrin Fletcher
Wil Cordero
Juan Bell
Rondell White
Ken Hill (went 16-5 as SP w 3.32era)
Pedro Martinez (11-5 w 3.42ERA)

I still don't believe that game would have been great at all. People act like it would have been so much different than Oklahoma. I doubt it. Oklahoma was actually favored going into the game.

People forget that Carroll's USC teams were damn near unbeatable in big games unless you had a VY performance for the ages. They tended to lose focus against mediocre Pac 10 teams such as Oregon State, but they were just awesome in the spotlight games.

I mean they beat freaking VaTech 16-13 in the Sugar Bowl

2004 Va Tech was really, really good. They pushed USC hard in the opener that year and may have beaten them if not for a very questionable OPI call that turned the course of the game in the middle of the 3rd quarter.
