You're going to know more about it than me. I haven't gotten around to talking to Vaalyn much.
As for the DE's I think the same thing. Unless Freeman can step up. I like the DT's. I think Lighten is going to be a beast just judging by what he did last year. We all know what Vaalyn can do and then you have Justin Breaux coming in. He was All-State at Sulphur.
My main concern is the CB's. They have a converted WR in Jeremy Haynes and LaDarius at the corners. Although Key is a preseason CB pick, Haynes, I have questions about. But at the same time, he got out of the spring #1 on the depth chart. The depth there sucks too. I really really think the 3 Texas freshman are going to step up this year too. I really think those three are going to be bad asses by the time they leave.
Nelson, Pilate, and Minor are all pretty dsecent LB's.
I don't care how much the Rant hates him, this is a good sign. I also like Guidry back at the secondary coach. 3 All - Americans (Bronson, Gulley, and Prince) while he was the coach is no coincidence. I hope he can do that with Vigers.

The LB coach studied under Saban so look for the those guys to play some better ball too.

Vaalyn had told my Dad that the defensive backs we red shirted last year could develop quickly and produce.

It's pretty much understood that they are going to give up some big plays this year because of the amount of blitzing they will be doing. All in all, I think the D will be nasty, but we will have to win some shootouts.

I remember watching them last year in the Blue/Gold game. Considering they were going to be redshirted, they definitely had "the look." They were in on a few really hard hits too. I can't wait to see how they develop.

I hope Guidry goes to Hebert and talks him into bringing back the Safety blitz Hadley and Rod Gulley was so good at. You start there and once you've got pressure, the opposing offensive play just completely breaks down. To me, that's where the defense was unbreakable.

Kyle said they come from everywhere. He told me back in the spring that the line had some real adjustments to make because some of the blitzes had never been used against them. He talked about one play and he swore that two guys ran at him from the sidelines. He said, "I had little f*ckers running at me from everwhere, I felt like I was chopping wood that day."

good. something different and no film of it for opposing coaches. Because last year was "Go get 'em Bryan" and that was that.

I agree with that safety blitz Hadley used to bring. It was tough to stop. Man this is going to be one exciting season.
